Our
Story
Get to Know Us
Social Issue Support for Her (SIS-HER) was founded by De’Nisha Beasley, LMSW, out of a deep commitment to protect women and children from violence, exploitation, and trafficking.

The vision for SIS-HER grew out of De’Nisha’s years of work on the frontlines of anti-trafficking outreach in Los Angeles, where she witnessed firsthand how difficult it was to reach victims once they were trapped in exploitation. At the same time, while serving as a school counselor, she saw a painful pattern emerge—so many survivors shared that they were first targeted as middle school students. That realization sparked a shift toward prevention, with early outreach in both Los Angeles and Detroit, and later a return home in 2020 to focus fully on grassroots work.

Since then, SIS-HER has grown into a community movement. Volunteers, partners, and advocates have joined together to bring prevention and education directly into schools and neighborhoods. Together, we created I Am Safe, a teen dating violence and human trafficking prevention training, and continue to expand our efforts through community workshops, outreach events, and safety initiatives that empower youth and families.

What began with one story has become a collective mission. Today, SIS-HER stands as a network of people dedicated to making sure no woman or child feels unseen, unheard, or unprotected.
Our Programs

The Kid's Defense Project

We host community awareness events to teach children, parents and community members how to identify signs of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. We travel to schools, churches, foster homes, and community organizations all over the United States to raise awareness about these social issues. We also provide school districts with educational resources and a Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Curriculum.
The RESTORE Project

We believe preventing child sexual abuse starts with families and communities. We help restore and build strong relationships between adults and youth. We provide restorative communication classes to parents, educators and other community members to help them facilitate discussions with youth about teen dating violence, sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and other taboo topics.
The Safe-Care Project

We offer support to women who are victims of sex trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault facilitating their recovery process through a holistic and comprehensive care approach including mental health and wellness support, vocational training and job placement.
